Cromos M.C.'s anniversary party

A while ago a friend invited me to get on the road towards Cromos M.C.’s anniversary party, that took place in São José dos Campos, São Paulo. He made so many compliments on the previous parties and was so excited that was just impossible to say no. And, to be real, I was just looking for an excuse (like I needed one) to get on the road again.

On the eve of the trip everything indicated that it would be a wreck. The weather forecast had predicted a rainy and cold weekend and since a strong wind was blowing in Rio that previous night, there wasn’t a doubt at that time that the trip would be under a heavy rain.

And it couldn’t have been any different. Saturday dawn, about 5 am, there was a little rain and a lotta coldness. I almost drop out, but fuck, what the hell… So I put on 3 pants, 5 shirts/sweatshirts and went straight to meeting spot. When I got there, there were already a few people waiting for the bar to open to get some breakfast. While we chatted, the rest of the group got there. When everyone arrived, we got on the road…

The trip ended up being awesome and, contradicting all the foresights, no water drop fell from the sky while we're on the highway. That was one helluva of a pack on the road. Full patch members of traditional brazilian M.C.’s, along with friends and old school mechanics in 15 scoots – 13 Harley Davidsons, including Shovels, Evo, Twin Cam and even a S&S engine. Most of the time I rode behind a Shovel, which had a fishing rod fastened to the handlebar and carried a bottom-burned frying pan strapped to the sissy bar. As Mastercard would say, that is priceless…

As soon as we got to São José dos Campos, we headed to Cromos M.C.’s clubhouse where we were very well received. Located near an important avenue, the clubhouse is a huge two-storey hangar and feeds anyone’s imagination about the crazy parties that might go on there. From there, they leaded us to the place where the event was taking place, some sort of small farm with such a great visual, as you can see in the pics.

As the night approached, the bikers were arriving and so was the cold. The party was crowded, but not too much, just enough to make it good. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about the cold. It was fucking freezing. The bands provided rock n' roll all night long. The BBQ and some other “add-ons” helped us not to freeze and the chatting went on throughout the night…

The next day we took the road back to Rio and I gotta say it was a true cold shower. Literally… Heavy rain all the way back…

To the Cromos M.C. my congratulations on the party and count me in next time.

Keep ridin, ftw...
